Personal opinion - The DW Low Boy Hi Hat is compact, convenient, smooth, clean, accurate with a low profile for percussionists or guitar/player singer songwriters who don’t want the extra equipment to be so noticed and desire a streamlined stage. I tried it with the small hi hats that comes with it and a pair of regular sized 14” hats which sounded incredibly good and felt great as well. If a person wasn’t planning to use sticks on the hi hat at all and only play it with the foot, this low profile hi hat pedal is really great! I love it! It’s perfect for singer/songwriters if they want drums at there feet. The hat on the left and a small kick on the right, would work and sound amazing.
