Dede Booth marches to the beat of her own drum—both figuratively and literally. As a drummer turned multi-instrumentalist with over 30 years of experience, Dede's career is defined by her ability to see the big picture while staying true to her passions. Her latest solo release, Age of a Century, is Dede’s most progressive work to date, exploring the theme of “history repeating itself” through seven richly layered tracks. "The album reflects on the patterns in human behavior—both societal and personal—that keep us stuck," she explains. "I delve into topics like oppression, inspired by the abandoned mental health facilities near where I live. But I also highlight the positive impact of history, such as the lasting impressions we leave on others and the potential for those moments to ripple forward." Musically, Age of a Century brings Dede’s journey full circle, returning to her own musical roots and weaving together her progrock foundation with elements of stadium rock, funk, reggae, new wave, artrock, and even some drum n bass. "This album is a celebration of all my musical histories," she says. "You’ll hear progressive rock at its core, but there’s something for everyone when you look closer." Concept-driven and deeply personal, Age of a Century showcases not only Dede’s creative ambition but also her commitment to breaking boundaries, and in a unique solo drum set performance, Dede will take us on that journey as she performs the album in its entirety.
