Join Rick Bausman, director of The Milokan Cultural Center and Drum Museum in Chilmark, MA, for a fun and engaging drumming workshop!

Rick has developed a unique ensemble drumming curriculum for children of all ages, even toddlers. This hands-on experience explores rhythm through language, storytelling, and colorful spatial analog graphics. Drawing on his 40 years of experience and observations of children learning drumming as a language in Africa and the Caribbean, Rick will share techniques to build your confidence in guiding your community in rhythm. These spatial analog graphics provide a visual and mathematical reference for rhythm structure that pre- and beginning readers can easily understand.

Come embark on a Rhythm Adventure! You'll leave with reference materials from the workshop, and additional curriculum materials will be available anytime. Visits to Drummer Oo's Petting Zoo can be arranged, and Rick is always excited to connect with new communities through music.
